Free Range Turkeys - Bronze or White
We produce both traditional white and free range bronzes, a slow-growing strain with enhanced flavour and quality. The white turkeys are kept in open barns on deep straw with natural light and ventilation. The bronze turkeys are kept on free range in large grass paddocks.
Free Range Geese
We rear Norfolk geese on the farm, taking them as day-old goslings in April/May and rearing them slowly in grass paddocks for Christmas.
To give you a guide a small goose will feed up to 4, medium up to 7, and large up to 10.
Free Range Chickens
Brought on more slowly than supermarket varieties, to produce a greatly improved taste and texture.
Three Bird Roast - Goose, Chicken & Pheasant
For a really special occasion try our magnificent three bird roast. Goose stuffed with a chicken, which in turn is stuffed with a pheasant! The roast is layered with apricot and sage stuffing, and boned for ease in carving. A wonderful party dish hot or cold; feeds about 15 people.
All the poultry for Christmas is reared on site at Herons
Farm. Our geese can be seen from the Coggeshall to Earls Colne Road in
large paddocks and have become a notable local landmark in the area since
it's inception in 1983.
