Free Range Turkeys
We produce Free Range Bronze Turkeys, a slow-growing breed with enhanced flavour and quality. Our bronze turkeys are free to roam in large grass paddocks all day and are reared to maturity, skilfully hand-finished and ‘game hung’ for 10 – 14 days for a superior bird.
Free Range Geese
Our free-range geese graze on the Herons Farm paddocks from four weeks old. The goose is a seasonal bird with the first egg being laid around Valentine’s Day and the laying period finishing in July.
We offer the very best in traditional British bacon. It is dry cured rind on and available in back or streaky and smoked or unsmoked. In addition, we produce our renowned Gloucester Black Bacon which has been marinated in real ale and molasses for a month before being dry cured for a further two weeks.
Alongside out Free Range Turkeys and Geese, we supply Free Range Essex Chickens and Free Range Aylesbury Ducks.
The Rare Breed Meat Company offers the finest pedigree rare breed beef in the UK. All of the livestock we rear or buy directly from local producers has been reared in a totally free range and stress-free environment, feeding on grass, hay and silage, which produces a meat that is not only succulent but also full of flavour.
Colne Valley Lambs, bred and reared by local farmers on neighbouring farms. Salt Marsh lamb, this a seasonal breed which is available from June until around the end of March. Dorest Lambs, also known as the “King of the prime lamb breeds’.
