Blackwells Farm Shop is situated at Herons Farm, near Coggeshall in Essex, where the Blackwells family has farmed since the 1930s. During this period, the award-winning farm has been rearing poultry by traditional methods, known for their succulent chickens, and fresh geese and turkeys for the Christmas market.
The farm shop is committed to supporting local suppliers, with over 90% of the produce being sourced within a 30-mile radius of the farm. The high-quality meats are sourced from local farmers, known, and trusted by Blackwells for their good husbandry skills.
The farm shop is made up by a team of talented butchers, chefs, bakers, and customer advisors. Every day the farm shops fresh bakes counter is full of sweet treats and its very popular sausage rolls, all made by the in-house bakers.
Blackwells Farm Shop has its own pre-made dishes, the Seriously Good Food range, created by the in-house chefs. These delicious dishes include, homemade lasagne, Cottage Pies, Lamb Stews, and a variety of pies. The chefs also create seasonal dishes alongside their signature ready meals.
In 2004, the Blackwells family set up a sister company, The Rare Breed Meat Company, to service leading butchers and food halls who directly seek high quality locally produced meat.
Proving a huge success, The Rare Breed Meat Company sources to high-end and fine dining restaurants throughout Essex and London, including, The Ned, Trinity, Hawksmoor, and many more.
