“Since we love the produce from the farm shop and the kitchens it was the only way to go for our wedding.
Mark has a great menu selection and it was a struggle to choose from so many lovely dishes. We settled on a selection of canapés for the drinks reception, smoked duck followed by lamb rump with red wine jus or chicken in a mushroom sauce. The trio of desserts to follow was to die for. My veggie friends who are used to resorting to salad and chips were amazed by Mark’s Mushroom and spinach Wellington!!!
Staff were well organised and well presented making it a seamless operation. Sorry I dragged you out of the kitchen Mark for a round of applause but it was well deserved and so many guests commented on how lovely the food was. Thank you so much.”

“We went with Blackwells to cater our wedding at the popular new wedding venue Houchins (literally just down the road!). It was one of the best wedding decisions we made!
On request of my father-in-law who is a regular at the shop, we contacted Mark Woodyard who is the chef there for a tasting.
The meeting was really productive and Mark was really helpful in helping us decide the practicalities that you wouldn’t have even thought of! (e.g what proportion of people would go for chicken vs lamb, how many canapes would be enough, number of waiters needed).
The food was amazing, such beautiful presentation, and the selection was quite diverse (we had thai fish cakes as starters , and all sorts of posh canapes like pear and gorgonzola wrapped in parma ham which people raved about!). The hog roast was also amazing, they brought the whole hog on a spit!
At the Wedding itself, the waiters/waitresses that Mark had arranged were sharply dressed and very enthusiastic. All in all, the food was 5 star, and yet such good value as it was no where near the price quoted by the other caterer, and the food was better! Can’t thank Mark Woodyard enough and the team for all their hardwork!“
