Blackwells Farm Shop is situated at Herons Farm, near Coggeshall in Essex, where the Blackwells family has farmed since the 1930s. During this period, the award-winning farm has been rearing poultry by traditional methods, known for their succulent chickens, and fresh geese and turkeys for the Christmas market.
The farm shop is committed to supporting local suppliers, with over 90% of the produce being sourced within a 30-mile radius of the farm. The high-quality meats are sourced from local farmers, known, and trusted by Blackwells for their good husbandry skills.
The farm shop is made up by a team of talented butchers, chefs, bakers, and customer advisors.
We source our meat from our own farm or local farmers known and trusted by ourselves for their good husbandry skills.
Our friendly, knowledgeable butchers are always on hand to help with cuts of meat, and we are always happy to help source the more unusual meats.
Our deli is brimming with cheese from across Europe as well as some great English favourites. We also offer traditional hams, cooked meats, and Dingley Dell’s Artisan selection of air-dried meats.
On the shelves you’ll find, a large supply of locally grown vegetables and fruits. Plus, a variety of products from local producers, such as Peter Watts Winery, Two Birds Spirits, Maldon Salt Company, Bradfields Farm Dairy, Laura Rose Candles, and Temp’rd Chocolates.
Our talented in-house chefs produce a great selection of seasonal ready-to-bake pies and dishes along with soups, sausage rolls, and condiments.
For those with a sweet tooth, everyday our bakers create delicious cakes, pastries, and desserts. Each week we have a different variety of sweet treats available.
With a team of passionate and talented chefs, Blackwells Catering delivers the perfect menu, from wedding breakfast’ and Canapes to BBQs and buffets.
All dishes are made using fresh, quality ingredients that sets our food apart.
Our creative bakers are also part of this service offering personalised, cakes, bakes, and cupcakes for special occasions.
In 2004, the Blackwells family set up a sister company, The Rare Breed Meat Company, to service leading butchers and food halls who directly seek high quality locally produced meat.
Proving a huge success, The Rare Breed Meat Company sources to high-end and fine dining restaurants throughout Essex and London, including, The Ned, Trinity, Hawksmoor, and many more.
