About Blackwells Farm Produce

The Blackwell family has been farming in the Coggeshall area for four generations. My Grandfather and father both farmed at Herons farm and I have continued this tradition over the last 30 years. For many years we have concentrated on traditional farm fresh geese and turkeys for the Christmas market, and in 2004 set up the Rare Breed Meat Company to service leading butchers and food halls directly seeking high quality locally produced meat for which we could provide full providence back to the source.

In response to popular demand we opened our farm shop in May 2008 and have seen pleasing and steady progress through Christmas and into the early spring of 2009. We are committed to local suppliers and over 90% of the produce we market is sourced within a 20-mile radius of Herons farm.
